DUPR* Doubles

 

Shawnigan DUPR Doubles are FREE for members, and only $5 for guests.  You can compete in meaningful games and  improve/refine your rating at no cost.   

This will be similar to Partner Play, but with skin in the game, and all teams will have the same gender format.  Signup and play with the partner of your choice.  We will first try a round robin format with a one-game playoff, though subsequent events may evolve.   All scores entered into DUPR.  Guest partners welcomed and strongly encouraged; players from outside our club will help to make ratings more accurate for everyone. 

DUPR ratings are now the ratings used for signup for large tournaments.  These tournaments now cost in excess of $60, and most only get 4 or 5 games before elimination. 
 

* DUPR is an acronym for Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating, which is commonly referred to as the most inclusive and accurate rating system in pickleball.
 

Tournaments

Due to the vagaries of weather during the spring and early summer, the tournament schedule is ever-evolving.  CourtReserve is the place to keep abreast of the latest offerings and developments.   
 

Clinics

We hope to have occasional instructional/mentoring clinics for our members on Saturdays.  This may be either a formal, paid 2 hour clinic with a qualified instructor, or a free 1 hour mentoring session squeezed in before a tournament.  Stay tuned.
